Project Description


Produced in partnership with former U.S. Vice President Al Gore, Live Earth was a series of 150 performances, in eleven event locations around the world, designed to raise awareness about climate change. The concerts were simultaneously broadcast to a global audience through television, radio, and the Internet. HMG produced the Live Earth stage at the Smithsonian’s National Museum of the American Indian on the National Mall and hosted by Al Gore, Garth Brooks, and many Native American performing artists.


Bringing together a diverse team of experts, HMG directed the staging, lighting, audio, telemetry for the event. We coordinated with the global broadcast of Live Earth to incorporate local operations and Live Earth’s kickoff with Al Gore.


Over a billion people throughout the world watched Live Earth. The event successfully raised awareness about climate change and established the Live Earth movement. The D.C. concert brought prestige to the Smithsonian Institution’s National Museum of the American Indian.

The Details.

HMG coordinated the participation of Al Gore to introduce Live Earth from the National Museum of the American Indian on the National Mall, elevating the D.C. event to attract more attention.

Live Earth was broadcast across the world on the BBC constellation, running live for roughly 12 hours. HMG managed the global broadcast integration to ensure the Washington D.C. Live Earth concert was seen throughout the world.
